First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church
Johnston, Iowa

Client Challenge: Design a new, traditionally styled church to accommodate a large congregation; create a sanctuary that acoustically supports a vibrant music ministry; work with committees and members to help educate and build consensus.

SVPA Solution: After helping the church develop a building program to meet both current and future needs, a new church was designed to include traditional features such as a steeple, masonry and lap siding. Inside, the large sanctuary is designed acoustically to support a pipe organ relocated from their previous facility, as well as for choir and symphonic music.
