Pella Care Center
Pella, Iowa

Client Challenge: Following the closure of a fitness center which was located adjacent to an existing senior independent and assisted living facility in Pella, Iowa, the developer asked SVPA to provide design for an additional 21,000 square feet and renovation of the existing 11,000 square foot building.

SVPA Solution: The new care center will have 32 private rooms and 10 semi-private rooms for the residents. Also as part of the facility is a physical therapy center, a hair salon, activity center, chapel and media room, dining and activity room, gathering area, and a living area that overlooks a central exterior courtyard. Complete skilled nursing care, laundry service, centralized bathing areas, and a commercial kitchen are part of the amenities these senior residents have available. The design of the building reflects stylized Dutch architecture which is prevalent in the community of Pella.
