Challenge: Provide renovations to the High School to improve the facility and building additions to meet long-term needs.
SVPA Solution: SVPA provided renovations and additions to the Winterset High School, which was completed in three phases. Phase 1: Work began in late Spring of 2010, with the remodeling of two chemistry/biology science rooms and an addition that included a band room, choir room and family consumer science room, as well as two general use classrooms. The remodeling was complete for the beginning of the school year. Phase 2: Work began in late Spring of 2011, with the remodeling of another biology classroom and one science classroom. Construction was complete for the start of the 2011/2012 school year. Phase 3: Work included the repurposing of the previous band and vocal areas into new function general purpose classroom space. The summer renovation also included a major expansion to the cafeteria area and improvements in ADA-accessible restrooms. SVPA has also provided planning services for an alternative high school classroom addition that will double as a safe room for the school.
