Project Description:
SVPA and our consulting design partner, WTW Architects, offered a design solution to expand the current dining hall building to create a new Campus Center adjacent to the city park on the edge of campus. Following several years of seeking full funding for this approach, the college and the SVPA team chose to study a different solution that would cost less while still providing the essential services desired in this type of building. A forty year old existing student center building was decided as the logical location to start over and develop a design that enhanced that building and built two times more space. The resulting design has received unanimous acceptance by the students, the faculty, the administration, and the Board of Trustees. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2011. The project will be LEED Certified.
