About Mimi

Mimi graduated from Iowa State University in November of 2020 and joined SVPA in February of 2021. She gained experience during her summer internships at architecture firms in Omaha. While there, she worked on a team with other interns updating existing data and creating diagrams for a school project while working in Revit and Bluebeam.

What is your favorite building and why?

“My favorite building is Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion. I love the simplicity and attention to detail – it really exemplifies the ethos of “less is more”, without sacrificing beauty in materiality.”

When did you know you wanted to be an architect?

“I decided I wanted to be an architect when I started looking at colleges in high school. My dad is an architect, and he designed the house I grew up in. It’s been a long process and a labor of love; I don’t think it’ll ever be entirely finished, but seeing the creativity and passion that goes into creating a space was inspiring.”
