When did you know you wanted to be an interior designer?
“When I was 12 my family finally got cable TV and I discovered HGTV. I loved watching Flip or Flop, Love It or List It, and of course Fixer Upper. I decided then that I wanted to design spaces just like Joanna Gaines. I quickly learned that interior design is nothing like you see on TV, but the added technicality of it makes it much more exciting.”
What phase of a project is your favorite and why?
“I really enjoy concept design because it is where you can dream up so many possibilities for a project. It is during this phase where you can develop a guiding concept with the client that encapsulates their vision and values. All design decisions can be tied back to the concept and help to create a cohesive design.”
