Midwest Heritage Bank
Midwest Heritage Bank’s vision for its new bank in Grimes was to be a very contemporary-looking building with curb appeal to compete with its competition in the developing commercial area of Grimes. Midwest Heritage Bank is owned by Hy-Vee Food Stores and it was their intent that the bank’s aesthetic would make reference to their newest modern store design in Grimes, adjacent to the bank. The resultant design takes on a very modern aesthetic, utilizing large areas of glass, metallic aluminum panels, wood grain metal panels and brick. The two-story building houses the bank and staff offices. The building also includes a flexible training room/kitchen/entertainment room that opens to a second level balcony with trellis that also serves as a structure for photovoltaic solar panels.
