Our Solution

The first phase of the project includes: a gymnasium, elevated track, locker rooms and fitness/cardio/strength areas. The second phase will include a six-lane swimming pool. Prior to being selected to design the new YMCA for Washington County, SVPA had provided a facility assessment of the existing building in 2013. The assessment report includes in-depth investigations of the building and systems including: architectural, exterior envelope, roof, life safety code issues, ADA-access concerns, fire protection, structural integrity, mechanical systems, plumbing evaluation, electrical systems, technology, security and aquatic natatorium evaluation. The building was analyzed with a desired program with expanding member services and fitness opportunities, including: daycare growth, gymnasium improvement, aquatic facilities, strength and fitness expanded spaces. SVPA provided concepts for in-town growth and expansion into adjacent buildings. In addition we also evaluated a concept for a new YMCA facility at the chosen location in Wellness Park.
